Consumers
Union ("CU") will not swap, sell, barter or rent
to any third party any individually identifiable information
provided during the Consumer Reports New and Used Car Price
Service ("the Service") ordering process. CU only
shares such data with its contracted affiliates for the sole
purpose of processing and delivering your order, and otherwise
makes disclosures only as required by law.
CU does not include in its site any
functionality allowing third parties to perform "reverse
searches" to identify individuals from e-mail addresses.
CU does not use tracking software to
monitor your individual use of the Service site.
CU does use temporary browser "cookies"
during the Service ordering process, so that you do not need
to enter your customer information every time you place an
order. You must accept the temporary cookie in order to gain
access to the ordering process. Note: If your browser is set
to notify you when you receive a cookie, you’ll be asked to
accept the cookie (yes/no). Choose yes.
CU does evaluate site usage by analyzing
user information in the aggregate, and only in a way that
does not identify any individual user.
CU does maintain a secure process for
collection, transmission, and storage of customer information.
See our Security
page for more details.
CU does conduct consumer surveys
from time to time. All individually identifiable responses
to surveys will be used only by CU and only for in-house purposes.
Any published survey data will only include user data in aggregate
form.
