Find out what we're testing and when new Ratings will post

Last updated: April 2013

From air conditioners to Wi-Fi speaker systems, Consumer Reports tests thousands of products every year in our Yonkers, N.Y., headquarters, not to mention dozens of vehicles at our Auto Test Center in East Haddam, Conn.

We've recently updated our Ratings and reviews for:

But new Ratings appear on our website on an almost-daily basis, and we want you to know when these reviews will debut. So we're launching this feature to help you out.

The dates below aren't set in stone because a number of factors could change our Ratings publish schedule. We'll do our best to keep the page current, so bookmark this page and come back often.

Camcorders

Our new reviews of camcorders will include models such as the Sony HDR-CX230V, Sony HDR-PJ230V, JVC Everio GZ-EX355, and JVC Everio GZ-E100.

Cars

The 2013 New York International Auto Show has opened its doors to the public. But our automotive experts have already seen interesting vehicles such as the 2014 Honda Odyssey minivan with a built-in vacuum cleaner. Keep up with the news and watch our new car videos in our special show section, on our news blog, and on Twitter via @CRCars.

Cookware

Whether you need to replace old pots and pans or get a wedding gift, our reviews of the latest cookware will help you choose the right set. We're planning to add a section devoted to frying pans to our Ratings.

Dishwashers

The top-rated Bosch Ascenta dishwasher does a great job of getting dishes and pans clean. But our updated dishwasher Ratings will feature a new model that possibly beats the Bosch.

Ranges, cooktop, and wall ovens

The centerpiece of any kitchen is its cooking appliance. Look for our coming kitchen range reviews and Ratings of cooktops and wall ovens soon. Our experts also recently added reviews of double ovens.

Refrigerators

Our experts continue to test new models, such as the $3,500 LG LFX33975ST French-door refrigerator with a 33 cubic foot capacity. While we update our Ratings of refrigerators with fully tested models, read our free buying guide to find the right model for your needs.

Digital cameras and interchangeable lenses

Our latest digital camera reviews will include new compact models that accept interchangeable lenses. That allows you to switch from a telephoto lens for distant action to a wide-angle lens for close-up work. But can these cameras compare to digital SLRs?

Televisions

Our testers recently spent some time with the Sony XBR-84X900 Ultra HD TV, an 84-inch TV with ultra-high resolution and 3D video capabilities—and a price tag of $25,000! And the $40,000 85-inch Samsung UN85S9 Ultra HD is one of the most expensive sets we've seen to date. But you don't have to spend a fortune to get the best television. Our latest TV Ratings will help you find a top-performing HDTV.

Computers

Now is the time to think about lightweight portable computers that you can take with you to the great outdoors. But are they really an ideal companion for your travels? Can you get by with an even lighter tablet computer? Our free buying guide to computers wil help you determine what you need in a mobile device.

Laundry detergents

Laundry detergent pods are gaining ground among consumers. But are conventional laundry detergents better—and do they pose less risk of accidental poisoning? Our testers will soon weigh in on the best detergents for cleaning your laundry.
