Find out what we're testing and when new Ratings will post

Last updated: May 2013

From air conditioners to Wi-Fi speaker systems, Consumer Reports tests thousands of products every year in our Yonkers, N.Y., headquarters, not to mention dozens of vehicles at our Auto Test Center in East Haddam, Conn.

We've recently updated our Ratings and reviews for:

And we're launching this page to keep you informed of when new Ratings may appear on our website.

The dates below aren't set in stone because a number of factors could change our Ratings publish schedule. We'll do our best to keep the page current, so bookmark this page and come back often.

Blu-ray players

New models have Internet access that may offer the ability to stream media from the Web. But Blu-ray players can access a library of videos often not available online. The features and specs of our updated Ratings will help you marry the offline and online worlds.

Coffeemakers

Our updated tests will include a new section that rates how the brews from pod coffeemakers taste.

Gas grills

The warmer weather might spur foodies' desire to cook outdoors. Our updated gas grill Ratings will add new models. Check back and see if the top grill from Weber remains king of the yards according to our testers.

Ranges, cooktops, and wall ovens

Spring and summer bring outdoor-cooking season. But if you're more concerned about indoor cooking, check our updated reviews of ranges and cooktops and wall ovens.

Camcorders

Our updated reviews of camcorders will include the latest models that are designed to capture your latest vacation moments in digital high-definition video. And follow our tips for upgrading software that might revive aging digital cameras and camcorders.

Streaming media players

Tiny boxes, such as the Asus Cube and the Roku 3, that connect your TV to the Internet and access streaming movie services might help cut home entertainment costs. Our new Ratings of streaming media players section will help you find the right gift for Father's Day (June 16).

Digital cameras

When it comes to taking the perfect vacation photo, smart phone cameras still lack certain features—such as long exposure times—of dedicated digital cameras. Our updated Ratings will review new camera models, some of which have convenient mobile phone-like features such as touch-screens.

Interchangeable lenses

We're updating our Ratings of interchangeable lenses. Our testers will continue to identify the best zoom and wide-angle lenses for D-SLR and advanced digital cameras.

Smart phones

Models powered by Google's Android operating system—such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and HTC First, continue to gain consumer interest. Our updated Ratings of smart phones, however, will see how they compete against newer models, some powered by Blackberry's and Microsoft's latest operating systems.

Televisions

LCD and LED TVs have gained ground among consumers searching for affordable and feature-filled sets. But our updated TV Ratings will also look at new large plasma TVs that promise state-of-the-art black and contrast levels.
