I purchased one last last year and just got a second one for my daughter since she is sweltering. I've had no problems with mine; my biggest dilemma is whether I shd buy the extended warranty! I've read mixed opinions. Since it was so inexpensive, I may not bother. I have a larger frigidaire downstairs that previous owners installed which works fabulously!!

Comment:
The unit worked well for the first cooling season. (June through August) of last year. So when I installed it again this late May it managed to last about 2 weeks. Sounds like the compressor is locking up! I work in hotel maintenance so I deal with room ac's all the time. On top of I spoke with our HVAC tech. Either the refrigerant leaked out(which I doubt since it cooled nicely) or the rotor in the compressor locked up. How sad for something that had about 4 months of use.

Upon calling customer service they stated it's not a repairable item but is replaceable. So I waited 6 days for them to call with instructions on how to return it because the first rep apparently isn't trained on returns. Then another rep calls and states no dealer in my area will assist me so now I'm stuck getting rid of this piece of junk and they'll cut me a check for what I paid.

Bottom line. DON'T BUY!
