I bought this to supplement my central air that ran non stop when temps got above 95 and the temp in the house was still in the 80's. Figured [$] was cheaper than buying a new central air unit at $2500 to $3000. Blows very cold air and despite what others have said this unit is very quiet even on high, I was expecting it to be a lot louder than it is. I have a large 24x16 room in center of house so put it in their and shut the 4 vents to that room to help cool other rooms in the house. Will post later if problems pop up.

Comment:

The auto fan feature increases the fan's speed for a faster cool down. It autmatically decreases the fan speed when the desired temperature is achieved. Additionally, the unit starts up and shuts down without the annoying clunking noise that some other room air conditioners have. All-in all, the Frigidaire 10,000 btu/hr is a solid buy.

Used in a L-shaped living room / Dining room combination area of 375 sq. ft. Im 74 yrs. old and found it easy to install, with a little help in lifting it. It gets hot here in Georgia but it cools this area on high in 15 min. and maintains it rest of day on low speed.
