I bought the ESA406k-l 6,000 BTU for my master bedroom to replace a lower BTU Unit. I love the remote control. When I stand in front of it, it seems to put out some nice cold air but only to the right. Left air flow is terrible. The directional blades are useless. I was still happy with the performance ... until the first rain. There is an inner blower that circulates the inside air that is sealed off from the outside or so it is suppose to be. I heard water rustling noises from inside the unit. After removing the main casing and separating the Styrofoam casing around the inner blower I found water at the bottom with no where to go. Also, I noticed that the main compartment of the A/C unit also collected a lot water and no drainage. I dried the unit of all water. All was well for a few days. Now I hear a loud, intermittent and abrupt cracking sound coming from inside the unit. Loud enough to wake me and my wife from a deep sleep.
