Had bought 2 units. One stopped working. Couldn't find any problem at all - company said it was frozen - well needed it ASAP since temp went to 98 with humidity of 80%. Frozen? Through it out bought new LG. Found reason for stoppage on internet. Unit stops ever 200 or so hours to ensure clean filter, whatever. Never mentioned in manual on web-site or on phone call as they told me it was frozen. Second one then stopped! Found fix and used instructions from internet (not Haier site). Started working. Now, - YEAR 2 - after power went off - unit stopped - didn't go back on - so went to reset power - pressed POWER button. Nothing. Unplugged, tested, plugged in - Nothing. Tested, reset, nothing. Power to cord is fine, plug in - lights up for a second - but still nothing. Instructions AGAIN useless. Temperature rising - humidity going up. Tried everything anywhere - standing on head - plugging in - unplugging out - rubbing Buddha's tummy - NOTHING. I've NEVER had such a worthless piece of garbage in my LIFE! Would rather have my electric guzzler's back that worked instead of the constant heart attack this unit presents every time I go to use it. The thing is more spotless than when I bought it - has a dedicated electrical line - I've thrown Holy Water on it - but for the LIFE of me - I can't get it to turn ON! If it's another idiotic issue where I've got to press a button while plugging it back in - stretching for all I'm worth using one hand to line up the holes clamping them in the 3 prong socket - hanging on to a lampshade while my right big toe is pressing the Timer Button while my next toe is pressing the POWER Button - I'm taking an ax to it! I just want to press the ON button and have it COOL THE ROOM! Never again - no matter how inexpensive!

Comment:
We bought two of these at Target. one didn't cool at all and we returned it. I wish we had returned both. The other does so off and on but not as well as two old Haier's that we had. The room never cools off. The room is small and we tried with the door closed. It didn't matter
