Warranty is worthless
6/11/2012
Pros
Worked for a year
Cons
No on-site repairs
Best Uses
Comment:
Product has a 2-year warranty, but when it stopped dehumidifying after only a year, I called the manufacturer for warranty service. They told me I had to take the unit (which is heavy) to an authorized service center. The nearest one is an hour and a half away. So the warranty is really worthless. My last unit was a Whirlpool which had in-home service. Too bad they don't make them anymore.

Comment:
MY WOOD FLOORS WERE SPILTING DUE TO HIGH MOISTURE IN THE CRAWLSPACE OF MY HOME. I COULD NEVER AFFORD TO ENCAPSULATE THE CRAWLSPACE FOR OVER $10,000.00. DANBY TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM.

Basement
Comment:
We just bought this at [...] for our basement. It had been running just two hours and there was a noticeable change. This machine works great. The only downfall, is the fan runs all the time even when the unit has brought the humidity down to the desired setting. However, the fan running is great for white noise if used in a bedroom. Also, the fan does keep the air moving so it does not get stale. Not a big deal, but a choice would be nice. The Filter can be removed for cleaning.
