Comment:
We bought this to keep humidity low and avoid basement mold. For 2 warm seasons it worked great, only disadvantage is that it generates a lot of heat. 3rd season, I noticed it wasn't generating as much heat. The fan and compressor were both running, but it was not getting any water out of the air. I realized it blew its freon load. Since I bought it at Costco, which has a forever return policy, I returned it, and sill order a new one, smaller model.

Use the unit in the lower level of our Split Level home.
Like the pump feature becauise you don't have to empty the bucket.
Don't like the noise it makes when running.

Comment:
This is the second one that I bought from big box store. When they were working, they were fine. The first died between 1-2 yrs from purchase, the other lasted less than a year. Neither will light up, nothing. The one year warranty is virtually useless because most people only use during the spring-summer months and otherwise don't notice. I will have to pay to ship it for repairs...no authorized repair in Michigan.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
