Comment:
I bought this unit based on the good reviews here and on another website. I saw reviews stating how buyer's units quit working and that it was impossible to repair them, but I somehow thought it would be different for me.

My unit is very noisy - you can hear it everywhere in my 847 sq ft condo when the compressor is running. It readily removed water for two bucketfuls over the first week, then it seemed to quit removing water - fan and compressor ran as before, just no water extraction. I thought maybe it was because we were having dry weather. Then when it rained for several days and it still didn't remove any water, despite running all the time, I realized it wasn't working, with symptoms similar to what many other reviewers had stated.

Just as I was contemplating trying to make a warranty claim to get a buyback, it started working again for no apparent reason and extracted a bucketful of water in about 30 hours.

My electric bill has increased about $12 / month. The unit generates a lot of hot hair, enough to palpably raise the temperature in the entire condo by several degrees.

The quality on these units seems to be all over the place with many failing within a few months - buying one is a gamble.

Pros
Great while it worked
Cons

Comment:
This was not misused in anyway. It simply didn't work even to 6 months The hazzle of replacing it isn't worth the product or the extended warranty. Looking for a different brand

Keeps Damp Basement Dry
Comment:
Ordered from online retailer with standard free shipping came in 3 days. Immediately put to work due to very damp conditions in basement. Easy to install permanent hose to floor drain. Noise levels were acceptable but we don't hang out in the basement much. Left on continous run for about a week and it brought the very damp conditions down relatively quick. Intake air filter is a nice feature so you don't have to worry about coils getting dirty. After looking at other reviews I will keep an eye on the condenser fan though.
