Comment:
This dehumidifier performed well for just over one year. Coincidentally, this is also the period of it's warranty. The coils now freeze and never defrost, rendering the product worthless. I called GE, they are sending me a voucher for $50.00 towards a new GE appliance. The heck with that. I'll try Kenmore and see if I have any better luck. I'm kind of sad that the world is going in this direction ([$] for a product that lasts for 1.5 years). My last Kenmore worked for 20 years, admittedly I did have to replace a squealing fan motor after 15 years.

Comment:
Bought for use during summer months in heated stotage unit. Worked well for a year. Now it runs all the time. Is very noisy. My electric bill for storage unit is triple what it was last year. I can't believe CU is recommending units that all seem prone to early failure. Read the other reviews. [*]

I purchased this unit at a local [@]June 29, 2011 to keep a room in my basement with sensitive electronic equipment around 45% or lower humidity - Unit worked ok for three months & was shut down & stored for the winter - On March 17, 2012 it was started up & would not remove any moisture from the room - After 5 very frustrating hours of unconcerned, unhelpful, uncaring & rude customer reps bouncing me around,I gave up - The service phone numbers in the manual & online are USELESS so don't waste your time. The Reps out & out lied to me & gave me bad phone numbers to call. One gave me the number to LG support & another to [@]customer service who was no help at all - I was told by another GE support rep that this was a return to vendor ([@]) product for service or replacement if under 1 year old, WRONG - [@]was absolutely NO HELP - The Store Manager said he would talk to the GE rep the next time he stopped in the store - Now that's a Big help - Nobody & I mean NOBODY wants to own up to this product or get me any help with repair or replacement - You've been warned - Stay Away, Far Away from GE % [@]appliances !!! This is a Prime Example of a Very Screwed Up Corporate America !!
