White powder residue is a nightmare

The white residue produced by the 31004/31005 is a nightmare. Everything in the house is covered by it in one day whether you use the caplet for minerals or not. It produces a mess in the house and a haze throughout the entire medium sized home. I would not recommend this to a friend. We question the breathability of this powder and have health concerns.

I've run this unit almost constantly since I got it just over a month ago, and am happy with it. I really like that it is so quiet, since I had to turn up the volume on TV/radio/CD player a lot with my last humidifier. I also like the fact that this unit produces no white residue. It does the job very well. The only thing I'd wish is that the reservoir was bigger.

Returned it. The knob would sometimes turn off, sometimes not. Even at the lowest output, it spewed water onto my wood floor. I truly hope Consumer Reports tests products more thoroughly than this.
