Comment:
The product became moldy after only a couple of weeks of use. I had tried to wipe it down once as per the weekly cleaning instructions. However, I did not want to unscrew all the parts to clean it. I only opened the part with thumbscrews. This left some spots unwiped as my hand could not fit into all of the crevices. These spots very quickly became moldy, which I did not initially notice and quickly spread through the whole machine. This machine easily collects condensation in it. I began to completely disassemble the humidifier for each cleaning. However since the impeller is plastic and press fitted it quickly became deformed and the humidifier quickly turned into a fountain splashing water all over the place.

I then tried to apply some ultrahydrophobic coating to parts of it, which further exacerbated the problem. Now it did provide a very pretty show of water beads and flying little spheres of water. However, the mess it created was not worth it.

Long story short, this machine is nearly impossible to clean, if you do clean it you will likely damage some parts of it.

Also the noise has been very annoying ever since I first turned it on. I should have returned it before taking it apart to try and clean it.

Comment:
I bought mine last winter; I don't think mine has the humidistat dial; it just has a high, medium, and low setting. My model has a bright green light behind the dial that cannot be turned off while the machine is on, which is annoying at night. It's also relatively noisy and periodically glugs and churns during the night. There's nothing like waking up in the middle of the night to what sounds like a leak. However, it has never actually leaked, and it has a good amount of output. We've run it for 10 hours with no issues and without refilling. It's helped my husband's asthma, easing the discomfort in his chest he normally has in the morning. We primarily use it in the winter when we have the heater running constantly, which dries out the air badly.

If you're not very sensitive to light or noise, this is a good option. We're somewhat used to the noise and light now.
