Heating A Large House
Comment:
We have had our Harman P68 for three years now. We live in Virginia and use it to heat our ~2500 square foot house in temperatures down to 30 degrees on average in winter. We turn off our HVAC heat entirely and solely rely on this pellet stove and a few well placed fans. (Note: air movement is very important to heating a whole house with this type of stove - it has its own blower, but be sure to strategically place fans around to move the heat further). Using room temperature set to 70 degrees, the whole house stays no cooler than 65 degrees in winter regardless of the weather outside. We average one bag a day, but can burn two on especially cold days. Our pellet prices average about $4.50 per bag, or roughly $225 per ton. We clean out the stove about three times during the heating season.

We have never had any issues with this stove at all. Having said that, we have also been fastidious with our maintenance. We do all the maintenance ourselves (it's really easy), but if you don't like getting sooty, this isn't for you.

All in all we would buy this again in a heartbeat.

This stove is fuel efficient, clean & easy to operate. The cons are that the replacement parts are expensive & wear out relatively quickely. In 6 yrs, I 've replaced 3 major parts not covered under warranty & now the warranty is only 90 days on repacement parts .labor is expensive also. The original stove was about $4000 installed.

Great stove, love the auto start feature and thermostat setting. Owned it going on 3 years now, purchased used so I had a few things go out on it like the igniter, motherboard (Lightning strike)

If you can afford one it's a great stove.

I will caution you that if you call a stove place to do repairs be prepared for sticker shock.
I had to have the motherboard replaced and a cleaning/servicing and it was a bit over $500.00.
Harmon parts are hideously expensive Motherboard $190.00, distribution blower $245.00 So learn to do the servicing yourself look on UTube (Through Amazon I was able to get an OEM blower for $61)
