Had two. Both units give the wrong room temp. Tells you it is 20 degrees warmer than it actually is, so it turns off prematurely.

Until it breaks, it works terrific

Besides the obvious fact that EVERYBODY says this unit breaks, let's not loose sight of the fact that when it does work, it's the best.

I have a really noisy radiator boiler in my home, albeit an efficient and brand new system, but it costs a lot in gas and electric to run, so instead of doing that, I use several of these Vornado units, one placed in each room. Placed on a medium setting, they keep the rooms toasty. It's best to set them and forget them, i.e., to keep the room warm all the time.

I find my electric bills are much cheaper than the gas boiler. Instead of a $300-400 monthly bill in the winter for the boiler, I averaged $150-180 with the vornado units, and it was much quieter and WARMER. The only negative was that it was a bit dry. I have a 1800 square foot flat.

I have used five of them in five years, and four are still working, and another one makes a rattling noise when it changes temps. But they nail the temps, keeps them there, and I'm very happy. Of the six I've bought, one broke, one is on its way to breaking probably, and all the reviews say they break and aren't good for more than a season or two. Yet if you add it up, the cost savings are still worth it.

Best option is the 110 model, which does everything the iControl model does and a much lesser cost.

I'm happy. But I do wait for them to break.

These heaters last a season or two and thats it. I own the plastic models and also the metal model. I thought steeping up to the metal model would get me something that would last but I was wrong. While they work they are the best, but what seems to happen is the thermostat unit fails and then it just blows cold air. If there was some way to bypass the thermostat then it would work. I am willing to spend big money on a space heater that works, but the cheapies are all junk. Same thing with Holmes. Don't waste your money. Try to find quality.
