Tried this unit for about 40 days, was not impressed , would run all day if you let it and never get up to 72 degrees. Returned it for a refund.

Last January (year ago) my gas heating unit went out on a Friday evening. Figured I couldn't get a repair man out over the week end. I went to Lowes and picked up two Dura flames. I have a 1600 s/f home. Put one in the family room and one in the master B/R and set both at 73 since the wife is elderly with thin blood she likes it toasty... The weather was 34 low and 62 high. Worked great, little cooler in the hall way. I was concerned about the high cost of electricity. The next week I looked on the internet and since we have a smart meter I can see what the current costs in one hour increments. I was surprised that it only came to 8 cents an hour for the two units.
Since natural gas is high in my area I decided to keep one in the master B/R (272s/f + bath room) after I had the heating unit repaired. At 10:00 p.m. I turn the main unit down to 62 and turn on the dura flame to 72. The average electric cost is 3 cents an hour or for 10 hours 30 cents. This has helped my gas bill considerably.
I see on the reviews that there are complaints about not throwing out enough heat. No problem with mine. Yet I live in central Ca. where in the cold months the low is mid 30's and high low 60's. In colder climates most likely different.
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
