Comment:
This is an addendum to my last review and hope this is helpfull to others. I am a General Contractor in two states out west. I have tried and tried to get help with this new app they MAKE US UTILIZE for the Ecobee 2 and 3. The product manager Nash, tells me he will call me back and never does. I have spoken with Stuart Lomard, the CEO, and he tells me I can use the OLD APP, but I never received it. The initial application that ran the Ecobee 2 and 3 was GREAT and then they changed it to this very NON_FUNCTIONAL app with black background.I Give up.I have removed this from my home. Please be cautious as I have been plagued with issues on this app

Comment:
I am a General Contractor in 2 states out west. I purchased Ecobee 2 due to its #2 rating,(at the time), and its smart phone capability and ease of use. I installed this in numerous friends homes and was very happy until they changed their smart phone application of which they are having copious amounts of issues. It is completely different from the original in context and flat out does not work at all!! I have placed some calls to the Manager of development and was told this would be fixed by end of year. END OF YEAR??? Are you serious?? He told me it was done at the request of the CEO, Mr Stuart Lombard. I asked him if he was rated #2 by Consumer reports, why would they change anything? He could not answer my question. My customers have all been calling me trying to get me to fix this issue and I can not. It will costs me thousands to replace the ecobee thermostats for my very dis pleased friends.I actually have this thermostat in my residence but will Be replacing it this weekend. Stay away from this thermostat. It absolutely does not function on smart phones.

Comment:
We wavered between the Nest and the Ecobee. Glad we chose the Ecobee. Installed on a Lennox HVAC system. Managing settings is very responsive. We have never had issues with connectivity to the thermostat or the Ecobee web site. Shows energy use, and is exportable to Excel. It is easier to use the phone app then to actually us the touch thermostat. Would highly recommend.
