Easy To Clean
I bought this blender probably about 8 years ago, maybe more. It was a gift for my mother who had burned out a few blenders, and needed a good one. My brother laughed at me because I researched quite a few blenders and created a spreadsheet of specs, prices, and user reviews. I live in the apartment upstairs from my mom, and I borrow the blender all the time. We both use the blender primarily for soups, sometimes soothes, and very occasionally for iced drinks - maybe once or twice a year. The blender isn't used daily, but maybe once a week or biweekly. I knew it was a great blender when I made a roasted eggplant soup and the was not a shred of evidence of the eggplant skin or seeds. I've made smoothies with flax seeds, and, again, super smooth. I had previously owned Hamilton beach and Oster blenders - the budget ones of each brand - that had preset buttons like puree, frappe, blend, mix, etc. They never made ay sense to me, I've never used a VitaMix, so maybe I don't know what I'm missing out on, but the two-speed toggle switch works just fine for me. (I have worked professionally in restaurants, and frankly, more buttons are not what make a better product.) The footprint of the base is small enough to keep out on the counter without sacrificing too much space. It has suction cups to secure it ti the counter, but we've placed it on a small oval cutting board precisely so we can avoid it sticking, and freely slide it around. We did have to replace the pitcher once when my mom accentually left a stainless steel spoon inside, and it slightly warped the blades, but the piece was easy to replace as Waring seems to have any piece available for replacement. I'm only writing this review because I think it's finally time I bought my own blender, and I just wanted to see what the reviews said about my mom's before I went out and bought one. I was shocked to find the negative review on CR, and felt I needed to defend the MegaMix, which has served us well for quite some time.
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
