We choose this based on the ratings and put it on our Christmas wish list. It worked well for a month until it stopped brewing suddenly one day. For a unit to fail a month in, that's just poor quality.

The only other knock on this is that the lighting interface isn't the best. You can easily figure it out, but their designers could easily have done better.

Great Coffee Pot for 30$
Best Coffee I have ever had from a low cost machine. You cannot do better for under 50$. I do not use the strong brew button, so I cannot comment.

Second one broke too
Easy To Use
Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot
I make two to three pots a day. My first Mr. Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT coffeemaker would not keep the coffee hot and broke completely after a year. I've had coffee makers designed to only keep the coffee warm, not hot, so that it keeps in the pot for a while. I thought that was the case with this one but after I bought my second, I figured out that my first coffee maker never worked right to begin with. My second would keep the coffee hot but broke after a few months.

I'm done with Mr. Coffee and am wondering why such a coffee maker gets a moderate to high rating from consumer reports. Shouldn't consumer reports give reliability information? This one is NOT reliable.
