Comment:
I bought this coffeemaker last year based on CR's review. It was a BIG mistake. You cannot find the pods at local stores. The manufacturer has discontinued selling them online. I can only buy three-packs from Amazon, which limits the variety I can buy. I use Keurig at work and do not notice any significant taste difference to warrant the major hassle of owning the Dolce Gusto. I am extremely disappointed with CR and question the reviews of this site. I wish I had not read CR's review and bought this product.

I drink 1-2 cups a morning. The Genio brews 1 cup quickly and another before I can finish the first. Good, hot cups.

I use the machine every day, multiple times a day, to make coffee. I have tried nearly all the capsules available on the website and you'll love some and hate others. Nestle seems to really be pushing the specialty drinks in the US. They are often sugary and milky and not really to my liking as you can hardly taste any coffee.

I bought this machine because it's very well known in Europe and, in fact, the best coffees (black) are only sold in the European market. I order my coffees through Amazon marketplace and through friends that come to visit from Europe. The US store has a lousy selection of black coffees and, in particular, of the two espressos they offer, only one is drinkable (the espresso intenso).

Keep in mind that when you buy the cappuccinos and lattes, you are effectively paying twice as much per cup because one box contains 8 capsules of coffee and 8 capsules of milk whereas the black coffees are 16 capsules.

People who drink gigantic mugs of coffee will not like this machine as the maximum cup is 8 ounces. Also, if you tote around a thermos full of coffee, it won't fit under this machine to fill it. Luckily, these things don't apply to me.

If you like espresso, you must try to get the Ristretto Ardenza from Europe; it's heaven in a cup. The cafe au lait is very popular with my guests as well (again, only from Europe).
