We were intrigued by the icoffee's spin brew technology. But out-of-the-box we found the machine to be quirky, difficult to clean, and did not produce coffee that was any better than our other coffeemakers.

The machine makes okay, but not great, coffee but the filter allows a significant volume of fines to make it into the pot.

It is difficult to clean the brew basket. With our old filter machine we simply removed and composted the use coffee and filter. With the icoffee you have to tap the spent grounds into a receptacle and then wash a significant volume of coffee grounds down the drain.

The machine is quirky in that it is extremely sensitive to power surges. We were constantly having to reset the clock and turn off the machines musical serenade that sounds when the brew cycle startup and again at completion.

In the end,the machine died during its sixth month of use. It will be replaced with the machine made by another manufacturer.

We recommend avoiding this machine.

Absolutely the best
A Little Messy To Clean
Best Uses
This is the first time I have sent in a review for a product in CR, but the coffee is so smooth and exceptional that I feel obligated to do do. Both my wife and myself are coffee maniacs. She grew up in San Franciso I have spent many years abroad at places where coffee is the the main motivating factor in the morning. The results of using the I Coffee maker are to put to shame any and all other coffee makers bar none. I used to use a cusinart model, that was highly recommended by CR, but it dosent even come close to the elixir that comes out of this machine. For making coffee that the taste equals the aroma of a newly opened bag of beans go no further!

Good coffee, poor carafe
Best Uses
Makes excellent coffee, and fast. Easy to load. Not too difficult to clean.

Very hard to pour the first couple of cups without dribbling a lot. Think this has something to do with the way the secondary filter fits in the carafe, but have no way to change this.

Hope they change this fit in the next model or I'll not get another..

One-to-three months
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
