I am returning this item as the catch on the lid of the coffee maker ceased to work after less than a week. The problem is the is a small plastic catch on the lid of the machine isn't letting the door stay closed and it needs to remain closed so that the brewing coffee is directed into the carafe. I also have difficulty pouring all the water from the carafe into the reservoir when filling the machine for use. The lid of the machine doesn't open wide enough for you to tip the carafe all the way so you have to dump some water back into the sink if you don't want it to cool and dilute your coffee. I will be trying the Mr Coffee next I guess.

Lid Breaks Very Easily
Bought this appliance end of 2013.
The lid broke after a few months and I received a replacement (for which I did need to pay shipping). Now the lid on the replacement is also broken.
Yes, the machine makes great coffee, but CR should also look at durability when rating a machine.
P.S. - it would also be nice if the editing function on this website worked better :-(

Poor Lid Design!
Easy To Clean
Easy To Use
This is the third one in 6 months. On the first two the lid hinge broke. Received the first replacement after sending along the required $10 and $22 for shipping. The second one broke as well. The third one I received at no additional cost and is working ok so far.......
