Great coffee, but prone to breaking
Brews Quickly
Easy To Use
Large Pot
Multiple Settings
Hard To Clean
Poorly Designed Parts
Best Uses
-brews great coffee
-lid broke on first model after 3 weeks
-received a replacement, lid broke on the next coffeemaker after 6 months
-obviously poorly designed parts
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Lid springs broke after 1.5 years
Best Uses
Both springs in the lid broke after about a year and a half; not entirely surprising, as the lid seems not sturdily built. I had to pay Cuisinart $10 for S&H to get a replacement, and I had to pay $39 to ship the broken unit back; the total was more than one half what I paid in the first place. (On the plus side, the unit makes very good coffee.)

Poor design and workmanship
Great coffee
Inferior Workmanship
Poor quality
Serious Design Flaws
Best Uses
So disappointing! The first thing we noticed is that the design of the lid is quite poor; after one brews a pot of coffee, the condensate collects on the lid. When one opens the lid, it opens such that the condensate runs down the back of the coffee maker and onto your countertop. This is a SIMPLE design issue to correct; just design the lid so that the condensate runs into the fresh water tank (it is distilled water, after all...) It really feels like NOBODY from this company ever used thie coffee maker.

The lid is overly complex and under-performs. Ours lasted about 5 months before the springs broke. At least our button didn't break like others have reported.

The last straw for this coffee maker? After about 18 months of fairly reliable service, it has started leaking water all over the countertop when it brews.

It just really feels like this company is taking the planned obsolescence thing just a bit too far.
