The lid hinge has failed as so many others have noted. The springs are sitting on my counter.

The bottom of the maker has a metal plate that is rusting. I now have to put the maker on a plastic sheet to keep it from staining the counter with rust.

Very hard to target the water into the reservoir without spilling. You can't get all the water in, without spilling it.

Horrible customer service from Cuisinart. No response. No ability to get past front line customer service.

This maker has not been re-designed yet and it's been over 3 years with these design flaws. Customers spending $100.00 or more expect a high end name like Cuisinart to make a quality design and stand behind their product. Disappointing.

CR- it's time to look at customer reviews and note re-occurring issues in your ratings.

Great coffee, but weak rear hinges
Makes very good coffee
A little awkward to fill
Only Warm For 2 Hours
Yjis made very good coffee, but as others have noted, the rear hinges tend to break. You can still use it. Only one of two inges broke on ours, so it still opens and you just have to be careful to make sure it closes correctly. Also, my wife gets up earlier than I do, and would have liked a 3 keep warm (for my second cup) than the 2 hours it has. We were very careful as others noted the weak hinge, but it seems Cuisinart hasn't decided to re-engineer it yet.
