Best Uses
We have looked at many coffee makers. I first saw this unit at work (many years ago), where the auto-off feature permitted us to have a coffee maker, no more burned empty pots. Since then we have spent the money for our home use. I haven't found a unit that looks good, works well (great coffee) and has the auto-off capability. We bring this on family trips, where everyone else appreciates its capabilities. They have lasted us 3+ years each of daily use, and will always be replaced as long as this unit is available.

Really surprised when Cuisinart refused to honor the three-year warranty on our coffeemaker. First one was purchased in 2010; it died after two years and Cuisinart replaced it in 2012. The second one died last night (Oct. 20, 2014). We called Cuisinart to get that one replaced and were told the warranty only applied to the original coffeemaker. Why bother offering a three-year warranty when the product doesn't last more than two? We will not purchase another product from this company.

Lid Latch broke after 3 months of daily use. I have a big rock holding the lid down now. So much for my stylish coffee maker. Lid not listed in parts on their web site.
I am confused as to how CR can keep reporting this unit as one of the best with all of these negative reviews. I feel CR should pressure manufacturer for a refund or replacement lid for all the bad units. I am afraid to go by your rating on a new one.

Mark
