This is another product reviewed by CR that didn't last a year. As with large appliances, circuit boards are not up to the quality suggested by the high price. Buttons not working in 9 months for a [$] retail coffee maker. After multiple failures of high end GE appliances ($700 micro, $1500 stove for ex.) I give up. My old bunn unit lasted 20 years with no circuit board. Read washer and dryer reviews. Same thing. So the widget in the appliance has a 10 year warranty. Who cares? The thing will be inoperable shortly after the 1 year warranty for everything else because the buttons won't work.So CR has reliability reports on cars and trucks, it's about time to have them for appliances. BTW, this will be the second coffee maker to replace in (you guessed it!) TWO years.

Comment:
Buy this coffee maker and you'll never run out of things to do. After every brew cycle I have to move the unit to clean up the water underneath. Open the lid and water drips everywhere. Loaded with hard-to-reach nooks and crannies that trap water. The spigot leaks and just about fills up the spill tray daily. Have only had this unit for six months and have been traveling about half that time, so it's really only been used the equivalent of three months. Have taken good care of the unit but that did not help. Lucky for me when I called to discuss this with the retailer where I bought it, I was cheerfully offered a full refund, which I gladly accepted.
