The Waring Pro CMS100 is part of the coffeemaker test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, drip coffeemaker models like the Pro CMS100 are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below. Brew performance: The ability to reach 195° to 205° F for five or six minutes, the industry standard for optimal brewing. Convenience: Reflects ease of filling the reservoir, placing the filter, gauging the amount of coffee remaining, and cleaning up. It also reflects how clear we judged the controls. Carafe handling: Covers handle comfort, tendency to drip while pouring, balance of a full carafe, and how easy it was to empty the last liquid. I've used mine everyday for ~3 years. Cone basket more consistent over differing quantities (1 vs 12 cups). I bought to replace my beloved Braun KF-12 listed as out of service :(

Broke lid to carafe in trying to clean. Neither part available to will have to purchase new coffeemaker. It WILL NOT be a Waring.

The pros of the coffee maker are essentially pointless, as it developed an unfixable water leak after less than a year, and is now unusable. Given reviews here and on [@], it seems to be a common occurrence. Our previous coffee maker, a Krups, cost about twice as much as this one, but lasted eight years. We cheaped out on this one and learned our lesson.
