At first, this made coffee. That's what I needed it to do and it did it. After three months of daily use I noticed that it was brewing weak coffee (more water in the carafe than coffee), the grains were not all wet either. I found the spout leaked onto the cover and dripped around the coffee grounds and basket. I fixed it by bending and pushing it. Now it seems that after about four months it gets too hot at normal brewing temperature for the computer to work and it shuts itself off. The clock gets on the fritz and blinks flashes erratically, and the power won't come back on. Done.

Comment:
The model makes great coffee, but there is a major design flaw.

Near the end of the brewing cycle, it releases an excessive amount of steam from the vent holes near the back of the unit. The water condenses on to walls and the underside of nearby kitchen cabinets. So much steam is released, that the condensation begins to drip off the underside of the cabinets. It almost looks like a home humidifier the last 4 minutes of the brewing cycle.

We are already seeing water damage to the finish of our cabinets, so this model will be moved to the garage sale box.

It is hard to imagine how C.R. could have missed this issue during their testing.
