Comment:
Have had Black and decker and Mr Coffee models for years. Choose Black and Decker over others for general use, cleaning and handling with great quality coffee but this model (unlike our past B+D one which still works but is now at the summer cabin has no back light and sits in a darker counter area making setting or reading the clock impossible without a flashlight. I almost returned it initially but found it's other features worth the extra effort since reading the time can be done elsewhere. Setting it, or knowing if it has gone back to OO is now it's main glitch con.

Our old coffeemaker stopped working 2 weeks ago and I went to Target and blindly purchased this model. All of the negatives reviews describe the Black & Decker CM4000S (Target) Coffeemaker marker to the T. Excessive steam, water pooling around the coffee grounds basket rim and weak coffee makes this one of the worst coffeemakers I have ever purchased. The clock lighting is awful and the coffee has a burnt taste to it. I am so glad I kept the box. Returning!

This is an inexpensive coffee maker that compliments any stainless steel decor without the gaudiness. After nearly two years it brews as good as the first day. It uses the standard 3/4 inch (8.75 cm) basket filter and the coffemaker has rubber feet. Very little steam vents from the top which can damage cabinet.

Negatives: the warming plate is now showing some wear from dripped coffee and the digital clock is hard read because there's no back-light. Otherwise, this is a very good coffemaker.
