I was excited to receive the Bunn MCU for Christmas. It brewed a great cup of coffee with nice crème... for about 9 months. After that the grounds in the drawer were soupy - the machine was no longer extracting the water. I cleaned the machine regularly but still had this problem. I called Bunn - they replaced the unit. The second unit worked well for about 3 weeks. Water was 165, and the grounds were soupy. I called again. Another unit was sent to me. I was thrilled to have the machine working the way it was supposed to be working. After 4 weeks, I began having the same problem. Check valves were replaced, I had deep cleaned (vinegar) the machine, I verified that the seal was properly reinserted, tried a different drawer and still had the same result. Once again I contacted Bunn. Natasha offered to replace the unit again. I declined. I have had 3 Bunn coffee makers since 1979. I am sold on the quality of these machines. However, I cannot in good conscience recommend the MCU to anyone. I can get the same flavor making one cup of coffee at a time using my Bunn coffee maker. It's just not as convenient.

I have enjoyed this brewer up until today when, at 13 mos old it stopped functioning. The red light stays on and it does nothing. I dug out my warranty and happy to see it's a 2 year one so will call the company requesting a replacement tomorrow.

I love MY Bunn My Cafe coffeemaker...it's simple, no frills, meaning less bells and whistles that you don't need or use, to break down...and it SOLID and well-built. So you have to add water for each cup, big deal...the trade off is, you are adding clean, fresh water that hasn't been sitting in a reservoir for god only knows how many days waiting to be used. And, go into any diner in the USA, most likely you will see a BUNN commercial coffee maker before you see a Keurig...??? Bunn is the ONE, I rest my case...!!!
