We bought this coffeemaker and used it both with ground coffee and K-cups. It was used probably less than a dozen times then one day just would not brew. The red light was on, but nothing happened. Have not contacted Hamilton Beach because the buyer has to pay for shipping both to and from the company. It would probably be more cost effective to just buy a new coffeemaker. I am surprised and disappointed that most all these multi-use coffeemakers have such low ratings! We can put a man on the moon, but can't make a decent, reliable coffeemaker? Back to my old reliable coffee pot!

I kept thinking I was doing something wrong so once in a while I'd try again. But nothing ever was different. Water leaked out all over counter, rarely in the cup. And if in the cup sure not coffee more like dirty water. Much less aggravation to run to 7-11 or McDonald's for coffee. But who wants to do that when you're just trying to have a cup of coffee while you get ready for work.

Have had 10 days and very disappointed. The first 3 cups did okay, the coffee was not as hot as I prefer and it takes quite a bit of time. After that it leaks water everywhere and I end up with about a 5 ounce cup of coffee. Returning the item this weekend.
