There are many ways to make coffee at home but making great expresso at home is time consuming, often difficult and the best machines cost a fortune.

The Verismo makes it easy. Drop in an espresso capsule, push the button and one shot takes 15 seconds and press twice for a double shot of espresso in 30 seconds.

Three or four types of Espresso are available. Costco and Bed, Bath and Beyond run specials that reduce the cost to about 75 cents per capsule. A double espresso or tall Misto...cafe au lait, cost two or three dollars at a coffee shop. Less than a dollar with the Verismo for equal quality.

The unit is compact and looks more expensive than its current low price.

Complaints about water leaks may result from forgetting to empty the drip tray after every six or seven capsules.

Leaked water all over my desk.
My brand new machine purchased from CostCo leaked water from the underside instead of dispensing into the cup. Customer service told me to take it back, so I did. I've seem similar comments from others- they must have very poor quality assurance.
