This was at the top of my kitchen appliance list for my new house. That has been four (4) years ago, never had a problem and can not say enough good things about it. It will simmer a perfect Risotto, sear a steak, and boil water in less time than the microwave. I got the GE because it was the only one with no chrome and it is beautiful in my kitchen.

We switched from gas to induction when we remodeled our kitchen. We liked the control of gas but wanted a cooktop that was easier to keep clean. Our induction cooktop has even better control than the gas and provides a cleaner, sleeker look to our kitchen.

Comment:
First the good... this is a nice looking cooktop and easy to clean since the controls are touch and on the panel itself. It heats up fast, but there is a buzzing sound at high settings. The bad is that my unit has broken down TWICE in the first 3 months. First two of the burners stopped working. So [...] replaced the circuit board. Now the control lock and timer functions are not working. So another circuit board and cooktop glass are on order. VERY frustrating experience for a [$]+ cooktop.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
