kenmore elite cooktp
3/3/2013
Pros
Heats Up Quickly
High Powered Burners
Large Surface Area
Precise Controls
Cons
Difficult to Clean
Surface Already Damaged
Best Uses
Comment:
the range top was installed last fall during a kitchen remodel. Replaced an older kitchenaid smooth top. The kenmore surface got damaged (etched) from something spilled within a couple of months of using it. Took about six years to do this to the kitcheaid. Wondering if the surface coating is more delicate on the kenmore. I do know how to take care of these too. Otherwise it works well, heats up very rapidly. Will get an induction top next time so we don't have to worry about liquids damaging the hot surface. The stainless edge trim gets scratched easily also.

Pro: Great temperature control for an electric cooktop, gets the job done. Comes close to a gas cooktop in terms of temperature control.

Cons:
1) Blue lights indicates that heating elements are hot, which is potentially dangerous as usally blue signifies cold and red signifies hot.
2) Not easy to remove gunk from the little groove that circles around the control push buttons.
