Comment:
This cooktop has a nice design, the downdraft is adequate though when in use pulls the flame. There aren't many choices for downdraft, so this is probably the best. I will never buy stainless again. in the first 3 months the surface was scratched. The worst of it is the unit under the burner cap where the burn ports are, i had a spill from boiling chicken broth, it is forever stained. and just recently another spill on another burner that won't clean, this metal is rough and seems to absorb the spill making it impossible to clean. Now the cooktop looks old and dirty.<br />Live chat/customer service was no help.

Comment:
Love the way it performs but unfortunately after a year or so the labels (that tell you which burner goes with each knob and the Jenn-Air label) all worn off even with very careful cleaning. It wasn't a cheap unit and part of having it is to show the Jenn-Air label and I don't even have that anymore.

Comment:
Have had two Jenn-Air downdraft gas modular cooktops since 1990. Recently replaced the modular version with JGD3430 - the 30 version of the gas cooktop tested by Consumer Reports. The cooktop design is beautiful and has been easy to care for. The quality seems very good. The operation and overall performance of the cooktop has been excellent - it gets lots of use in our household. So far, I couldn't be happier.
