About - KitchenAid KUDS30IX[ ]

The KitchenAid KUDS30IX[ ] is a dishwasher available from KitchenAid. The KUDS30IX[ ] typically costs $947.95.

Consumer Reports recommends that you match the features on a model to the needs you have. Here's our take on some of the specifications and features that are commonly available on dishwasher models like the KUDS30IX[ ].

Ample flatware slots:
Flatware baskets with lids provide individual slots for most of the utensils in our silverware load. Such lids prevent "nesting" and thus improve flatware cleaning. It is more time-consuming to load the cutlery into individual slots, though, so you can remove the lids if you prefer.

Adjustable upper rack:
Most models hold cups and glasses on the top rack, plates on the lower rack, and silverware in a basket. The ability to adjust the upper rack up or down an inch or so allows for more flexibility in loading items such as tall glasses.

Sensor:
A sensor adjusts water usage and cycle time to the amount of soil on the dishes. This should make a dishwasher use water more efficiently, but we found that wasn't always the case. Moreover, a sensor can increase a machine's running time.

Tested Model
The Ratings of KitchenAid KUDS30FX[SS] were applied to untested model KitchenAid KUDS30IX[ ], which in our judgment is enough alike in its performance, features, and specs that our test results apply to both.

I got the Kitchen Aid KUDS30ix WH1 almost two years ago-main attraction was stainless steel interior and pro-scrub feature (jets at the back). About six months ago the upper rack mechanism started to deteriorate. I replaced that and then the front control panel wouldn't work. My husband replaced the circuit board (not cheap) -- it appeared that the original circuit board soldering was poorly done. A couple of small delicate plastic pieces broke loose on the frame during the replacement but the dishwasher worked fine as long as I used the full cleaning cycle of heavy duty, pro-scrub, hi-temp, sani-rinse and used a rinse agent (I admit I have hard water). About a month ago the upper rack mechanism on the other side started to break (you should worry when the parts recommendation is to replace both sides at the same time). Last week the replacement circuit board went out a second time but my husband was able to tweak it and the dishwasher is working again. <br />The model does clean well. Make sure you get an extended warrantee or just choose another brand -- I would not recommend this one if it is representative of the line.
