Customer Service Has Room for Improvemen
Easy to clean
I'm a newbie to food processors and just got this one, so don't have any great insights on how it compares to other brands. It seems like a great product. I especially like the mini bowl, but don't know yet if using it will require cleaning the big bowl (which it sits inside) too. If so, that will be disappointing.<br /><br />I'm moved to submit a review by my customer experience to date. Bought the unit at BB&B with a 20% off coupon. There are 4 stores w/in 25 miles of me, and only one had it in stock. Got it home, read enough of the manual to feel confident that I knew how to puree some strawberries, and it wouldn't start. An error message flashed that said insert pusher, but the pusher was inserted, and no amount of fiddling made any difference. Checked the troubleshooting section of the manual but that didn't help. Then went to breville.com as instructed and was disappointed to see fairly limited hours for support, and on Pacific Standard hours (I'm Eastern). So I sent an email, noting that I figured I was doing something wrong but feeling a bit desperate since I'm starting cooking for Thanksgiving tomorrow. It is now tomorrow at 1 p.m. EST, and no response. Thank heavens my husband figured out the problem. I had seated the bowl on the unit as instructed, but when rotating it into place, stopped at the first resistance, and therefore had not rotated it far enough. It should have been obvious, the big handle sticks straight out to the front. But it wasn't obvious to me.<br /><br />My beefs are that the error message was misleading and that customer service has limited availability and is slow to respond in an emergency.
