Was mixing pizza dough and almost lost the machine when it started skipping accross the counter. It was a darn good thing I had my finger on the off button or the machine would have been on the floor.<br />If you are going to mix dough in this machine hold it down with both hands.

Would not recommend as it is way underpowered. I couldn't even find the wattage on line, but it is light and vibrates across the counter.

My last food processor lasted nearly 30 years. This one lasted barely a year. I have had many KitchenAid appliances over the years and figured I couldn't go wrong with this product. Boy, was I wrong!! First of all, it is cumbersome to change components if a recipe is asking for numerous tasking. i.e., grating cheese, chopping onions, etc. The attachments are confusing to put together. The Accessories Selection Guide is not easy to follow either. Getting the Multipurpose Stainless Steel Blade out of the food processor was the most difficult. I had to remove/scrape all the food out, turn it upside down, use a wooden handled spoon to PUSH the blade out. Now little bits of chopped food is all over counter and sink. What a mess!! I could NOT pull the blade out. The last straw came with my Sous Chef (husband) assisting me in grating cheese. He assembled everything correctly, turned it on and the FP literally jumped up and cracked the Drive Adapter and Disc Adapter. Finished grating cheese with a box grater.

More than six months
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Total Disappointment
01/03/2012
Strength
Large bowl size, plenty of power
Weakness
Poor design (compared to earlier models). NO attachments available.
I purchased this just before the holidays to replace an older Kitchenaid food processor. When I got it home, I tried to purchase an egg whip attachment and a julienne blade. They were both shown on their website. However, I found that these attachments were not available. That left me without them for my big holiday meal preparations. That was at the beginning of November, 2011. It is now January 3, 2012 and (you guessed it) they STILL are not available!!The inner bowl has a lip around it and the cover does not seal against it. When attempting to chop herbs, nuts. or vegetables. there is a build-up of partially chopped debris that collects on this lip. This was not the way the older model was designed as it had no problems with the lid sealing against it.Finally, the lid has too much of a gap between the lid and slicing blades causing large chunks to not get processed. They have to be removed from the bowl and chopped or sliced by hand. This food processor is a TOTAL disappointment and, in my opinion, NOT worth the money!!
