Comment:
I love this machine, but the lid cracked after about 2 years of use. Can't find a new lid anywhere, and Cuisinart says that it will be at least another 30 days to replace it. The large pusher sleeve cracked after only about a year, but at least it doesn't render the machine unusuable. If the lid cracks, you can't start the machine at all.

Great product, but discontinued!

Comment:
This machine has performed well for me and I think it is a well-designed product. However, BEWARE! This model has been discontinued, even though it does not say so on the Cuisinart website. This means extra accessories and parts are hard to find. I recently attempted to purchase the fine shredding disc, only to find they are no longer available. The Cuisinart website continues to advertise them as being in stock, which is very misleading. What a disappointment after investing hundreds of dollars in the machine and other accessory parts, only to find I cannot do everything with the product that I intended when I purchased it.
How long have you owned it:
One-to-three months
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
First used it to slice carrots. Started out great, then the carrots slid between the cover and the slicer so we ended up with pieces of carrots that wouldn't get sliced. A mess. Then, when I tried to clean it, I was so frustrated trying to the get pieces out of the gasket and the rest, it was a mess. Did my best and returned it to the retailer.
How long have you owned it:
A month or less
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
