I bought this model freezer in 2010 and it sat in the same spot the delivery people put it for 2.5 years before it stopped cooling. The diagnosis was a loss of coolant. It didn't come with a 5 year sealed system warranty so I was out of luck. Frigidaire was unsympathetic. Said I should have bought the extended warranty.

Also, it appears it was made by or contains parts made by Samsung. Everyone I know that has a Samsung has had problems. I just found out that my GE Profile bottom freezer model I purchased in 2008 was built by Samsung. It has been serviced 5 times since I bought it. At least I had the extended warranty.

Do not buy a freezer that doesn't have a 5 year sealed system warranty.
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line

Comment:
Bought in 2008. [$]. Not impressed. It's 3 cu. ft. bigger than the 22y/o manual defrost chest freezer it replaced (cuz we wanted an upright, chest still works) yet I'd swear it's smaller. The whole interior ...walls, floor, door, door shelves are cheap flimsy plastic. You have to be very careful so as not to break it. Currently (i can't remember when this started or even if it always did this, sorry) it is sporadicly leaking water from the bottom door and ? underneath. Yesterday it stopped working. I turned the temperature dial up to it's coldest setting, it came on! and was OK by morning. Still leaking water tho.Shouldn't this freezer have a drip pan like my frost-free refrigerator? !! The feet will not adjust. They turn but do not raise or lower. This was my first upright freezer. Next time I'll know better. Will shop around and kick the tires.
