We bought this freezer brand new from a local appliance store. The day it was delivered we noticed a problem with the controls on the door. We could not set any temp, or change it. the buttons would not push. we called the store, a tech came out, and replaced the control panel. It worked. Last night I went to get something out of it and noticed the temp read 46 deg. and it was running. I checked on the contents. and it was all thawing out. I selected a different temp, and it would go back to the 46 deg. I then attempted to put it on hard freeze, thought that might work. and left it alone (it stated it can take 72 hours), when I woke up this morning. it was 55 degrees. and everything that i couldnt move to our smaller fridge/freezer was completely thawed. We have had this freezer 3 weeks today. I called the appliance store, they sent a tech out this morning ( i had to miss some work for this visit), he stated the compressor was out, and he didnt know why it would go out so fast. He will have to repair it. In the mean time. no freezer, or they would loan me one. No replacement for the food we lost. I told him to keep the replacement. I had lost everything in it.<br />Customer service was ok with this company (local), however I will not buy another frigidare product. Should have told them to keep it when the panel went out on day one.

I've owned this just under 2 years. I have had repairmen out 2 times before warranty expired. I had the thermostat and circuit board replaced. It's worked for a year since, and then, a freon leak. I was told to just get a new one, rather than get this one fixed and recharged. I will take that advice and not get a frigidaire. Two years and a freon leak? seriously? Use a search engine and there are plenty of people out there with similar problems.

I bought this freezer for my second home 18 months back. In total, I opened the front door of that freezer less than 10 times. The freezer just quit working and the warranty was only for a year. I called, but nothing -- I was just out of luck and out the $700+ dollars for the freezer and also the $500 dollars worth of meat that went bad when the freezer went out. I have never heard of freezer going out after such a short period. It's the last time I buy a frigidaire!
