The GE FUM21SVR[WW] is part of the freezer
test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, freezer
models like the FUM21SVR[WW] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
Temperature performance combines results of several tests that measured how closely the manufacturer's recommended settings matched the ideal temperature at 0 degrees Fahrenheit and how well a model kept optimum temperatures in all parts of the freezer despite constant changes in room temperature ranging from 55 degrees Fahrenheit to 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
Energy efficiency reflects energy use for the usable volume (our measurement) based on average energy costs.
Noise level was measured when the compressor started up and during steady running. Subjective judgments by a panel of listeners supplemented our noise-meter readings.
The following models have the same ratings as GE FUM21SVR[WW].
Features and specs may vary
The Ratings applied to untested model Kenmore 2804[ ] come from our tests of model GE FUM21SVR[WW], which in our judgment is enough alike in its performance, features, and specs that our test results apply to both.

Brought this home in December for use in the Spring. When I plugged it in it didn't chill. At all. [...] GE customer service paying lip service, but can't find a servicer in my area and therefore appear to be paralyzed. They decided to send me a new compressor, but what the heck am I supposed to do with that without a technician to put it in????
