The Samsung NE597R0ABSR is part of the kitchen range
test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, electric range
models like the NE597R0ABSR are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
This reflects how quickly the most powerful element could raise a 6-liter (6 1/3 quart) pot of water from room temperature to a near boil.
This reflects how well the lowest-powered element or burner kept a low temperature as for melting chocolate. We also set the most powerful element to its lowest setting to test its ability to hold a large pot of tomato sauce below a boil.
This reflects the evenness of cookies and cakes in multi-rack baking tests.
About This Brand
This midlevel brands sells cooking appliances priced between $1,000 and $2,500. In 2008, Samsung released a range with the SteamQuic cleaning system, a three-fan true-convection range designed to cook food more evenly.
Double oven Double oven models have a second oven cavity. Most have a separate small oven above the main one complete with its own controls, door, window, oven light, slide-out rack, and self-clean function. While the upper oven offers easy access, the main oven is relatively low; you'll need to crouch to remove items from lower shelf positions. Other designs offer two same-sized ovens, or convert a single oven into two using a slide-in partition (though with a shared door.)
Cooking drawer Drawer below the main oven that can cook foods (up to a few inches high), as well as warm or heat serving bowls and plates. The cooking drawer has its own temperature control so can be set to cook a dish independent of the main oven. Foods must be lifted up out of the drawer (lacks a slide-out rack), and the drawer requires manual cleaning.
High-power elements The number of surface cooking elements rated at over 2,000 watts. On a smoothtop range, often one or more of the high-power elements is a dual element; you can choose the large element or a smaller element within the larger one for small pots.
Medium-power elements The number of surface cooking elements rated at over 1,500 watts but not more than 2,000 watts.
Low-power elements The number of surface cooking elements rated from 1,200 to 1,500 watts not including warming-only elements, or those contained within larger expandable elements.
Convection mode Has a convection feature that uses a fan or two to circulate heated air, and sometimes an extra heating element. The convection mode can be turned off if you prefer conventional cooking.
Slide-in Slides between cabinets; all controls are on front panel for a built-in look. May have an unfinished exterior on the sides of the range, and typically the left and right edges of the cooktop overlap the counter.
Stainless steel available Many new mainstream ranges come with stainless steel trim or offer a stainless-trim version for an additional $200 or so.
Bought this as part of a 4 Samsung appliance package during a kitchen remodel.<br /><br />After dealing with Samsung NO Customer Service we finally got a repair person out to look at it. The tech indicated that the functionality was not suited to us because it uses a time based temperature control to turn the burners on and off for cooking. Unfortunately, this causes the burning to continually raise the temperature of what you're cooking.<br />However, this explained why virtually everything we cooked was burning on the outside but not cooked inside.<br />Similarly, the oven does the same thing. So when your baking, say a meatloaf, it will be raw on the inside and well done on the outside...<br /><br />Please note that Samsung Customer Support will run you through a process to try to discourage you from calling, blame you for the issue, or simple state that its functioning as designed which is a code word for its not covered under warranty!<br />The Samsung decal was crooked, so we asked about it and was told that they used to send replacements but now we would have to purchase a replacement decal. However, if we scraped the old one off it may void warranty.<br />Give me a break! a appliance in this price range should not have this many issues.
How long have you owned it:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Black top hard to keep clean
Large Surface Area
Bottom Drawer Cheap
Difficult To Clean
Can't Use Stove Top
This stove looks great but the stove top is difficult to keep clean, I have to wipe it down then clean it with stove cleaner then window cleaner to make it look good after every use. The bottom drawer is made very cheap, I was told that they stopped using bearings that is why it doesn't roll very well . (huge mistake for something so costly)
