Replacing After 2 Years

Cons
Best Uses

Comment:
We use this range every day. After 2 years, the glass top crumbled above the center of the right front burner. A replacement glass cooktop is $304 at the cheapest internet vendor I could find... not worth it, so the range will have to be replaced. The new range will not have a glass cooktop. We have otherwise been happy with the range, though. The cooktop has been easy to clean ANY stain using a 3M pad and a cleaner made especially for glass cooktops. The self-cleaning oven feature works great, just requires wiping the residue afterward. Oven is very easy to control and seems to bake evenly. The cooktop burners leave a lot to be desired in the time they take to boil water. While I won't buy another glass cooktop, I would probably consider another Whirlpool, WITH raised spiral-element burners.

Comment:
I preheat the oven to 350, it stops at 300. I Let it cycle on & off 2 to 3 more times; the temp might get up to 350. But eventually it goes to 400 to 425 during baking. Recalabrated according to the users manual, no difference. Called customer service, no help. She said the wide range of heating temp was to be expected!! You have to constantly adjust the temp so what you are baking gets done or does not burn. <br />The dual burner is a joke. Takes forever to heat food on the single so I always use the dual setting. The heating of the all the burners is either to much or not enough. Not consistant at all. The stove top is terrible to clean and it has stained in two spots outside the burner area. It came with our new house. This is a very poor product and I would not reccomended it to anyone.

It takes forever to boil water for pasta. Simmering is inconsistent. I inherited this range in my new house and plan to replace it soon.
