Comment:
I did a lot of research and found people warning me about the smooth tops and how they get very hot and they are slow and anything that boils over gets burned into the glass. Not so with this range.
I predict all the other smoothtops will be gone in a few years and the only things for sale will be inductive, gas and spirial (coil) burners.
This thing is fast, you cannot put a pot on there, turn it on and leave the kitchen like I could do with the old stove. Since you're only heating the pan or pot base, it heats FAST. yet you can't burn your hand on the top of the stove unless you intentionally leave it there.
Fearing that i'd scratch the surface of my beautiful stove, I put a high temp oven protector (they go under the burners of typical ovens so the boil overs don't land on the bottom of the oven.) These things are basically a silicon mat that I put over the burners on top of my stove and put the pans and pots on top of that. I've fried potatoes and bacon on top of that mat with no problems and i don't scratch the surface. (do NOT use those mats on the oven because the burners are UNDER the surface with this model!) I have a video where I use a fry pan to fry bacon on top of parchment paper and the paper does not burn.

The oven: it's a little slow to heat up since the heating coils are under the bottom surface. But I LOVE THIS OVEN. it has very good temp control and all the things i've baked have come out perfect. The controls on the over are easy to use but if you change your mind about using the turbo fan you have to reset the temperature and start the oven up again. A minor inconvenience.

The one thing I don't like is the way you have to keep pressing the buttons to change the heat level of the stovetop burners. A dial is easier. So that control method is clumsy.

I had to buy some new pots and pans. If anyone is out there and thinking of buying ANY pots and pans I would recommend you get the induction capable ones because in 20 years, you'll be using either gas or induction. (this method of cooking is THAT GREAT)

SOme people have claimed that the stove or the pots make horrendous noise. I have only experienced a little bit of noise on one pot and then only when it was on max boil. And I had to pay attention to hear that noise. none of the other pots make any noise.

After two years of daily use, still can't say enough about this range. Responsive burners, heats up fast, but as importantly, you can turn down the heat quickly to keep things from burning or boiling over. Clean up is easy - my cooktop still looks like new! love the fact that you can wipe up spills quickly on the cooktop while the burner is still on...have never had anything 'burn' onto the cooktop. My favorite feature besides the induction is the oven probe feature. I've used it to do roasts and the Thanksgiving turkey every year with wonderful results. Did a 22 lb. turkey yesterday in just over 3 hours on convection...never opened the door once - inserted the probe, set the desired temperature, set the convection oven temp, and NEVER TOUCHED IT until it was ready. Didn't open the door once...the bird was perfect. Would definitely recomment to anyone who's interested in induction...a better value than the high-end cooktops - this range is the BOMB.

Comment:
Soon after our range was installed we found that the controls where switched for the two right burners, one large and one small, so small burner was overpowered and large one underpowered. The repair service that does GE's warranty work came, talked to tech support and ordered a new control panel. While waiting for part to arrive, the broiler stopped working. Okay, no steaks til it was fixed, no big deal. Then a few days later everything quit. When oven was turned on it would start to wam up then shut off after about 10 seconds. None of the stovetop burners recognized there was a pan on them and shut themselves off. Even the timer would only work for a few seconds. When the new part was installed, everything worked again, but the two right burners were still switched, just as it was when we first got it. Taking it back and buying something else. Very disappointed.
