About - Frigidaire Gallery FGGF3031KW

The Frigidaire Gallery FGGF3031KW is part of the kitchen range test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, gas range models like the Gallery FGGF3031KW are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Cooktop high:
This reflects how quickly the most powerful burner could raise a 6-liter (6 1/3-quart) pot of water from room temperature to a near boil.

Cooktop low:
This reflects the gentlest burner's ability to melt and hold chocolate without scorching it. We also set the most powerful burner to its lowest flame to test its ability to hold a large pot of tomato sauce below a boil.

Baking:
This reflects the evenness of cookies and cakes in multi-rack baking tests.

Comment:
I had to replace my 20 year old gas stove, I bought this and after a year and a 1/2 all 3 grates are chiping flaking and rusting.... the Burner caps are rusting as well and rust dust is piling up in the burner heads causing sparks. The cook surface is impossible to clean completely, that's why Black is so Popular! After my first oven cleaning cycle a drip appeared between the glass on the door. The distance between grates and burners is to far, the entire area around the pot gets hot, including handle and seems like the contents take forever to cook. Very disappointed in the quality of this product, and Frigidares lack of accountiability. Wish I had my Old stove back!

Comment:
I use my range for both everyday and large family get togethers - as many as 15-20 people, full meals. I utilize the stovetop and oven equally for both main dishes, specialty dishes, baked goods and desserts. I love the reliability of this range, ease of use and cleaning, control features such as timer/start delay/quick bake/self-clean (oven temp signals when desired temperature is reached - and it heats up really quickly), the griddle option, heavy-duty stovetop grates and control knobs. Overall, for the purchase price, I just couldn't find a range that compared in all these categories at anywhere near the everyday price of this range. I have owned the range, problem-free, for approximately 16 months and found only two things I didn't care for - 1) the oven rack hook-up to the oven door when opened, this is a feature that didn't work for me, but was easily unhooked; 2)no broiler pan included in the purchase (but I had a heavy-duty brolier pan from my previous range).
