About - LG LDG3037ST

The LG LDG3037ST is part of the kitchen range test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, gas range models like the LDG3037ST are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Cooktop high:
This reflects how quickly the most powerful burner could raise a 6-liter (6 1/3-quart) pot of water from room temperature to a near boil.

Cooktop low:
This reflects the gentlest burner's ability to melt and hold chocolate without scorching it. We also set the most powerful burner to its lowest flame to test its ability to hold a large pot of tomato sauce below a boil.

Baking:
This reflects the evenness of cookies and cakes in multi-rack baking tests.

Comment:
Our range was a lemon. The burners worked well, but the ovens, particularly the primary bottom oven, did not hold the temperature properly. When preheating the oven, the signal would sound at any temperature from 25 to 50 degrees below the set temperature. The oven would continue to heat and could end up at least 50 degrees over the set temperature. We tried adjusting the setting several times. LG tried to repair it under warranty, and replaced the motherboard. It still did not work properly. They offered to replace it, but don't have one available in our area. After making this purchase according to Consumer Report's guidelines, we were very disappointed.
