poor control of burner heat & oven temp

This stove will be returned because <br /><br />1) I bake a lot and the oven temperature swings 20-25 degrees as the flame cycles on and off. Doesn't work well for cakes and pies, and there's some variation in temperature within the oven because cakes come out browner on one side than another. <br /><br />2) It's not possible to precisely or even reasonably control the burner temperatures because the flame starts at high, is still high when set at medium, and then halfway to low suddenly drops. I am told this cannot be rectified. When our stove arrived simmer produced a boil on every burner and two heat diffusers have been on the stove since. However, it is possible to adjust some burners to achieve simmer. Only one burner is designed to simmer, which means dragging pots around. <br /><br />3) The telephone system at Samsung Customer Service is not helpful the customer. It requires about 5 minutes of being reminded that you should go online instead of calling, and working through a decision tree with recordings just to get to the right department. If you know someone's extension, there is no option to dial it. Instead, another agent begins the process all over again, beginning with your name, address, etc. On the bright side, the people at the other end of the phone are very polite and try hard to help. <br /><br />Overall, this stove isn't designed with much input from cooks or it would be more precise, and the company isn't invested in establishing brand loyalty.
