Comment:
Convection oven works great for just about any purpose we have tried. The cook-top, is NOT very good for small pots and pans. The problem is the distance from the burners to the top of the iron cast crates. The flame does not reach the bottom of the pots and pans with enough flame.

We have another 8 year old, cheap gas stove, that heats the pots and pans in at least half the time the Kenmore takes.

We did not know or think about this prior to buying a full Kenmore Kitchen set. If we did, we would not have bought a Kenmore oven. If you only use large pans and pots, (12 and larger diameter) it would be just fine; however, for most normal families the stove top takes at least twice the time, if not more, to bring any normal 8 pot or pan to a boil.

The two smallest burners are pretty much useless.

2 years of usage.

My wife and I had our last range die over the X-mas holiday. [...]had a great deal on this oven, we beat the list price by three hundred dollars, on a stainless steel model. We could not find a make/model at any retailer with all of the features on this range for anywhere near the price. I saw less than stellar reviews of the warranty follow up in general on their products from other websites, so we chose to avoid the extended warranty they tried to push. So far it has been great. The convection feature is awesome when cooking meats, you cook 25% less time and they are much juicier. We purchased an iron griddle to use over the middle burner. It works ok, but the range does not heat the ends well. Otherwise, a great bargain so far...

Comment:
I bought this range in white 1-1/2 years ago.. I really enjoy cooking and baking with it. The large grates make the cooking surface very versatile. A stainless top might be easier to keep clean, though. I have to be careful with the porcelain finish. The oven is very roomy and you can easily use all three racks at once with convection baking. I don't broil a lot, but have been satisfied with the results when I have broiled. When the range was first delivered, the installer did not adjust the burners and the convection fan did not work. The repairman came and replaced a motor on the oven fan and adjusted all the burners. Without their being adjusted correctly, he said it was a fire hazard because the burners extinguished too easily. Ever since the repair, I have had no problems. It's a little tricky to set the dual burner for medium temp cooking, so I have to check and make sure I haven't turned it down too far and extinguished the outer flames. The dual burner is great for wok cooking. Also I like having the split rack in the oven for roasting a turkey and baking a side dish at the same time. I thought I would use the center oblong burner more, but my husband prefers to make his famous pancakes on our electric griddle. I also like the fact that the timer continues to intermittantly ding until you turn it off. My old range only beeped once. If you were out of the room, you were out of luck- burned lots of cookies.
