Watts This is the manufacturer's figure of the microwave power output. In general, the more watts an oven offers, the greater its cooking power-and the faster your food will be cooked. That said, differences in claimed wattage of 100 watts or less are unlikely to result in significant differences in performance.

Convection mode A few microwaves include a convection oven feature, which has a heating element and a fan that distributes heat. In convection mode, you can set the oven temperature as you would in a traditional oven to bake or roast items.

Stainless/SS-look option Stainless-steel is stylish, but it shows fingerprints. Another option: a vinyl-covered metal finish that gives you a stainless-steel look but resists smudging.
Another two weeks (30days)and Sears wouldn't have allowed us to return it. Repair would have cost $69 plus parts, half of the purchase price.

Comment:
I purchased this microwave 12/2/2009 and it stopped heating this morning on the third item. We used this oven practically every meal for making tea, reheat coffee, oatmeal, melting cheese, warming leftovers, frozen dinners, etc. It initially took 60 sec to heat a cup of water in a mug and over the last 6 months, it pushed up to 130 sec. It had very quick encounter with metal sparking from handle of chinese food carton about year ago but seemed fine. Considering the Amana lasted 15 years or more, this seems like premature death. Up to now, we were happy. My experience in the last few years with home small appliances is quality is elusive even with research.

Comment:
As many others have reported (here and elsewhere), the durability of this unit is very poor. Perhaps we were lucky - we got a bit more than two years' from it before it failed...this being with very moderate usage.

We really did like the unit (though we never saw any foods labeled TrueCookPlus) - it was relatively quiet, fairly powerful, and convenient. Unfortunately, it also failed far too soon.

I cannot completely fault Consumer Reports for not reporting reliability - they have a product such as this for possibly only a few months and depend upon members' feedback for reliability ratings, though perhaps they should review comments posted (at least to their own site - this!) and perhaps add a caution to the product review.
