Comment:
I use this microwave mostly for reheating food. This 1200 watt unit replaces a much more expensive 2 year old 1200 watt unit that stopped working. The no-frills Oster is very easy to clean, attractive and controls are straighforward. My major complaint is that I highly doubt this is 1200 watts. My last 1200 watt microwave would boil 1 cup of water in 1.25 minutes. The Oster takes nearly three, similar to the 700 watt microwave at work. My minor complaint is that the beeper is obnoxiously loud and annoying, so much so that I can hear it outside the house in winter. Despite these two deficiencies, I do think this Oster microwave is a good value for the price and I would recommend it.

Comment:
The price (just under $110), size (mid-size) and power output (1200W) were right. First one arrived damaged so returned it and got second one on 2/21/12. Flimsy construction (whole frame bent out of square when didn't pick it up at all four corners), loud when working. Then on 9/28/12, it started cooking erratically and as if on very low power (a 30 second heating job sometimes took 3 minutes, sometimes 5 minutes), it would stop working completely (no lights, no turntable, no power) in mid-cook, but would come back on after a few minutes. By 10/1/12, it wasn't heating at all, even though the rest of the features (light, turntable, control panel) were on. Called the warranty phone number, described the problem, was told they would refund the purchase price (but not taxes) based on a form they have already e-mailed me. I will see if that works as smoothly as the operator made it sound.
