A few months after I bought my panasonic, my parents bought the same microwave as me. A few months ago, *4 months after the warranty expired*, their microwave started turning on WHILE THE DOOR WAS OPEN!!! That cannot be safe!!! Yesterday mine stopped working too, showing the code H98! *Also a few months past the warranty*. Thankfully we both bought our microwaves from Costco. They honoured my parents warranty even though it had expired & gave them a new microwave. I will take mine back tomorrow and am confident they will do the same for me! (they always stand behind what they sell, no matter what it is) I will not replace it with another Panasonic! I will upgrade it to something else from Costco, at least I'll have peace of mind knowing they will take care of me if I choose wrong again! I also purchased this microwave after reading Consumer reports recommendations, as a few others have also said here...not thinking to read these comments first! After seeing all the issues from everyone here, I am a little surprised that Consumer reports has not changed their ratings for this microwave, that serves better as a breadbox than a microwave! Very dissapointed!

Door stop
Does not work: Error code H97 displays 3 months after 1 year warranty expires. Means inverter or magnetron is broken. Very light use. Very bad choice. And I trusted the CR review.

I very quickly solved the door latch problem with a squirt of WD-40. True, it shouldn't have arisen, but this is otherwise the best of four or five microwaves I've owned over the years.
