Best Uses
Do not buy this oven. From the week we purchased it in Feb. 2013, it has intermittently blown the circuit breaker on the designated line into which it is plugged. The electrician agrees it is not a problem with the circuit. Now the door button is sticking and I will soon invoke the extended warranty I purchased independently. After baking two potatoes, there is always water running down the inside of the door. I am most disappointed because I bought it because it was the Consumer Reports top-rated microwave.

My first Sharp microwave oven lasted 25 years and was wonderful. I tried to find the same model and came very close. This one, I have had three years and it is awful. The turntable is very slow if it turns at all, which it usually doesn't. I gave up on a bag of popcorn. Never did pop. Heating has been very uneven and sporadic.

Frozen Food
I bought this Microwave for our new house. I wasn't real thrilled with it at first, it was too big, and I didn't like the white (I wanted stainless). My then wife is and was domestically challenged. But she had the Microwave figured out in no time. Frankly, she produced some outstanding dinners - frozen packaged dinners. Seriously, the frozen dinners, were evenly heated with no burned or hard food pieces - even better than if she'd actually use the oven.

I'm a retired chef, and there are times that I use the Microwave to because I'm having a lazy moment and I'll bake a potato or yam. The outcome of baked potatos and yams were absolutely perfect - the ends weren't over done. - amazing! The kids have mastered defrosting sweet buns, and pop corn.

All that said, this darn Microwave is incredibly consistent and durable. If I was half as good as this appliance, I'd probably still be married.

I Like this Microwave, and I will find another one if I can. Hopefully in Stainless. 14 years of abuse by the ex and the kids, it finally through in the towel. That darn Microwave took more domestic abuse than I would. Finally, the door hings are starting to wear. so if you try to open the door, the microwave fires up.

Give a bit of a lift from the bottom (the door) release button works just fine. Very Good Microwave; I will own another.
