Watts This is the manufacturer's figure of the microwave power output. In general, the more watts an oven offers, the greater its cooking power-and the faster your food will be cooked. That said, differences in claimed wattage of 100 watts or less are unlikely to result in significant differences in performance.

Convection mode A few microwaves include a convection oven feature, which has a heating element and a fan that distributes heat. In convection mode, you can set the oven temperature as you would in a traditional oven to bake or roast items.

Stainless/SS-look option Stainless-steel is stylish, but it shows fingerprints. Another option: a vinyl-covered metal finish that gives you a stainless-steel look but resists smudging.
Bought the extended warranty on this unit due to the useful comments from CR members. MW plastic trim was cracked when received. Was quite a chore to install - best for a professional. Great look and was happy with the performance until TE error code appeared; unit failed. Called Sears repair - took several days to show up to diagnose problem, then another two weeks to receive and install parts - still waiting!!! Sears service response is quite poor - don't seem to care when they already have your $$$$$!

Comment:
Hard reset the unit as my youngest wanted popcorn, only had microwave variety... Brought up fire extinguisher from the basement, but after 8 seconds I received an F7 Error code. This means either a technician comes to the house for $80 and diagnoses the problem. All labor and parts are extra... Gee I wonder how expensive that will be.... OR you can prepay $249 for all parts and labor... per their offshore non English as a first language phone bank person will tell you....with a one year warrantee.... WHY would you do that when you can buy a Whirlpool equivalent brand new for $275? Forgot to mention this is the SECOND Kenmore Elite appliance to almost catch on fire. My top of the line stainless steel bottom freezer refrigerator Model 795.77556600 had a defective light that overheated, melted the plastic case for the bulb and actually toasted bread (after melting the bread bag). I only regret at this point I did not file a small claims case for the ruined material in the frig. We were told by the repair technician that there was a recall on the unit (It would have been nice to know before the near fire...) but as a result did not have to pay for the repair... Oh Joy! What has happened to SEARS??

Comment:
We used the microwave several times a day, mostly to boil water, re-heat left-overs, or cook frozen dinners. Then one night in the middle of cooking dinner I get the code F-9 so I called someone to come fix it. The part cost 1/4 of a new machine, which I had to pay upfront. After about 10 days I called them to say that the part had still not arrived! I was then informed that the part was no longer made!! Can you believe that?? How can they stop making a part for if??
